What are your teams top 5-10 prospects (or rookies) and their realistic upsides and a bit info on them?
Rangers-
Buchnevich- 60 point+ 1st line playmaking RW. Already very impressive in his rookie season with limited ice time and almost half his games buried on the fourth line. Needs to up his defensive game a lot though but he can be the next Kucherov.
Skjei- #2D with an outside shot at low end 1D, on pace for 40 points as a rookie dman playing bottom pair usually. Already broke 30 points. Was projected as a two way D and is solid in his own zone, great skater but takes a lot of stupid penalties sometimes and has his mistakes (as all Rookie dmen do) to some he is our best prospect and definitely our second best D. Plays like Mcdonagh.
Igor Shestyorkin- Shestyorkin had an amazing season in the KHL this year (playing on the best team however but still impressive) arguably one of the best goalies in the KHL this year and a top 2 goalie prospect. Very athletic goaltender and could very well be the Rangers future starting goaltender and maybe an elite one at that. Probably a 5-10 goaltender.
Jimmy Vesey- interchangeable with Shestyorkin, Vesey plays a powerforward game. Although he struggled mid season he looks to have found his game again. Looks amazing sometimes but invisible the others. Most likely ends up around 45-55 points yearly as a middle 6 forward.
Ryan Graves- Good #4D, won the hardest shot competition in the AHL, bombing shot with solid defensive play could make him a solid 4D, needs to up his offensive game a bit and his skating. Ends up around 15-25 points a year probably.
