LW Jason Robertson - Kingston Frontenacs, OHL (2017 Draft)

Don`t found thread about him.

Few minutes ago played against Oshawa(1:2 L SO) and scored the one goal by Kingston. American native but plays in Canada since 2014.
From what I saw:
- great mix of size(188/88 or 6`2"/194) and speed
- solid north-south skater
- nice wrist shot, quick release
- work ethic

In 2016/17 season - 42 GP, 42 TP(20+22) - takes a lead on goals and points in Frontenacs.

Draft rankings notice him not often, probably cause Frontenacs don`t have great center who can help him to improve his stats. Just Draftsite put him on 1st round.

Who are watching him often? What about his creativity, stickhandling? Also seems like he need to use his size more often

G Igor Bobkov - Admiral Vladivostok, KHL (2009, 76th, ANA - Free Agent)

Saw his name come up on the Goalies for 17/18 thread but thought it deserved its own thread.

26 years old now, KHL allstar this year was sub 2.00 GAA (until his last game), now is a 2.03 with a .933 sv%. His contract is done at the end of the year, do you think any team bites in the NHL?

It's often said that big goalies usually hit their stride right around this age. Could be a sleeper FA signing for a team.

Hopefully those who've seen him play can shed some light.

Who's the 'Leon Draisaitl' of this draft?

Anybody got guesses for the 'Leon Draisaitl' of this draft?

I'm talking about a guys whose:
- Universally disliked due to "slow-skating" scouting reports. The rest of the internet perpetuates this falsehood, and call him a bust before he plays in the NHL?
- Makes the NHL and turns out to be one of the fastest players on his team, and definitely faster than average in the NHL?

Who's that guy this year?

Great NHL players who came from dreadful junior/college/whatever teams

More curious than anything else. Definitely not a hockey history buff. Anyone able to help out?

Sean Monahan is one guy I can think of.

RW Jesse Puljujärvi (2016, 4th, EDM) VII

Jesse Puljujarvi has recently been sent down to the AHL, I think he still qualifies as a prospect as this point. Time to reopen his prospect discussion.

Just scored his first goal in the AHL, currently quite dominant in his first handful of games on the condors.

Mario Lemieux 1983-1984

Everyone knows Mario put up ridiculous numbers his final season in the qmjhl. 70gp-133g-149a-282pts. One of the most dominant statistical seasons in hockey history. My question is though, what would it take for a player in today's game to equal or top Mario's season in statistical terms? Obviously for a player to average 4 points a game in the Ohl, Qmjhl, or Whl today is almost impossible, but what kinda stats would it take to challenge Lemieux'a 282 point season? I can't even remember the last time a junior player flirted with 200 points. I'll look forward to your responses guys.

Midterm central scouting rankings have been released

2018 NHL Early look

I made this list by watching (U17s, U18s, World Juniors, Regular Season games) all of these live, watching games online, obtaining tons of scouting video and collaboration of scouts in Europe I have worked with that are CHL consultants who work for NHL teams. There is still tons of prospects though not seen and not enough opportunity to scout enough so I love seeing peoples opinions especially on guys I do not have a chance to see all the time.

Pronman releases midseason top 50 NHL prospects list

Sorokin or Shesterkin and why?

Which goalie is better?

Who will come play in the NHL first?

Who has the most potential of being a #1 goalie in the NHL?

The Olli-garchy - Juolevi vs. Maatta

Hey all,

Just wanted to get a sense of the development curves of two of London's most recently hyped d-men, Olli Juolevi and Olli Maatta.

Now, as a Canucks fan, I followed London closely during Bo Horvat's time there, which was the same time that Maatta was there. It could just be due to recency theory, but I feel like Maatta received a lot more "hype" as an up-and-coming top NHL Dman than Juolevi receives today.

Given they both are coming out of the same system, I decided to do a little stat comparison between the two.

First Full Year of Juniors

Juolevi - 57 GP, 9G, 33A, 42P, +38
Maatta - 58 GP, 5G, 27A, 32P, +25

Second Full Year of Juniors

Juolevi (on pace for) - 14G, 36A, 50P, +30
Maatta - 8G, 30A, 38P, +9

So my question is, does Juolevi therefore project to be as good of a dman as Maatta? Does anyone who is a fan of the Knights have any insight on if we can expect Maatta-like production from Juolevi in the NHL given what they remember of both players' development curves?

Thanks!

C/LW Victor Ejdsell - BIK Karlskoga, Allsvenskan (2013 undrafted)

Thought it was about time to make a thread for this kid.

Really rare skill-set+frame and now has:

17g, 24a, 41p, +10 in 36 games played.

Playing centre at the moment, but also plays both wings. Not great on the draw though.

He is pretty awesome. Been watching him a few months (well, like 5-6 games in that time!) and he is pretty rare mix of talent. He is a biiiig kid, ~6'5 now and ~220lbs.

Only 21, June 95 born. Leading Allsvenskan in scoring.

Just watch this. He is #9. Shows just what he can do.

https://www.hockeyallsvenskan.se/play#video=qjkz7

His skating is clunky at times but he is not slow at all and has solid edge-work. Works hard, has a good stick defensively, is physical and can dish the puck, very nice hands and a solid wrister too.

He is very good at running a PP too, for such a big guy it is weird that he plays right half boards and dishes puck from there... but he has such nice hands and passing it makes sense at that level. Higher level he probably moves net-front.

Has always had talent, played for Sweden u19's, made SHL debut ~2 years ago.

Flashed when I watched a few games of him at Timrå last year too.

Took a weird path... may have had a shot at being drafted late if he had been in a 'normal' progression route... but instead of top tier J18 was playing 4th and 5th tier mens hockey at ages 15-17! Like, no actual decent prospects do that! Not since the 80's anyway!

I mean, I imagine most likely he gets signed to SHL next year... and then if he puts up ~30pts+ NHL teams start really looking... but Flyers signed Raffl from the Allsvenskan, and the Rags signed Malte Strömwall last summer.

Someone might see if he wants to play AHL next year and from that evaluate if he could play NHL down line.

LW Nils Höglander - AIK, Allsvenskan (2019)

I think he has earn a own thread now. He is born 2000-12-20, so in many people eyes he is one year older than a player born 2001-01-01. But either way, right now he is 0,5ppg (8p in 16 games) in allsvenskan (swedish tier 2), which is remarkable good for a player that have 2 years to his draft. But it is also very surprising, he hasnt really produced in juniors. Consider that, it can all be fluke. Another issue is off course his size 173 cm / 5'8", he needs to grow little bit. But he is a fun energetic player that can play pretty physical, he feels like a more skillfull Anton Karlsson when he was around the same age.

Was on the team that won the wjc 17 gold this summer for sweden.

HF Partner: The Draft Analyst: 1st Round Mock Draft

http://www.thedraftanalyst.com/mock-...draft-round-1/

I haven't released an updated Top-700 but these 31 players are all top-31 in the rankings I'll release shortly, with a few getting picked higher/lower than where they slot.

No first round picks have yet to change hands. If scouts do their homework, they ask for 2018's instead of picks for this year's draft if trades involving big names start to go down.

There are barely any immediate-impact types, so a team need in the NHL wasn't factored in. At the same time, quality/development of prospect pool was also considered. For example, the Flyers suck on defense but have good defense prospects, but they also have a surplus of fwds and goalies, so they go BPA.

C Nolan Patrick - Brandon Wheat Kings, WHL (2017 Draft) II

Jakub Zboril vs. Jacob Larsson

Who will be better?
Offensively I think Zboril has the edge and will be more physical.
But I think Larsson is better defensively
Thoughts?
